Employee ServicesJohn Tyznik, MD
Dr. John Tyznik is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He graduated from The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1981, and then completed a three year residency program in Family Practice at Mount Carmel. He is board-certified in both Family Practice and Sports Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Tyznik serves as Associate Director for the Mount Carmel Family Practice Residency Program and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Tyznik has served as the team physician for the Reynoldsburg High School football team since 1992. He has run four marathons and served as an event physician for the Columbus Marathon since 1990, and as medical director for five years. He has also served as an event physician for ATP professional tennis tournaments and regional and final OHSAA basketball tournaments. He is a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and a charter member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Tyznik was born and raised in Columbus, and now resides in Gahanna with his wife Jude and their son Thomas. Their son Patrick resides in Reynoldsburg, and their son Michael and daughter Katie reside in Cincinnati.
